RQ (JS) - Painter and Decorator

About the Role:

Islington Council is seeking a skilled Painter/Decorator to join our Direct Works team. You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality painting and decorating tasks on responsive repairs, planned works, and void properties. This role involves planning and organizing workload efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining excellent communication with colleagues and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform painting and decorating tasks to a high standard across residential properties.
• Organize workload and materials, ensuring deadlines and appointments are met.
• Report issues or delays and provide regular updates to supervisors.
• Maintain stock control and ensure safe use of equipment.
• Provide guidance to apprentices and trainees.
• Adhere to safety regulations and council policies at all times.
• Drive and maintain company vehicle, ensuring safety checks are completed.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and promote high standards of service.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in painting and decorating.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
