Job Title: Road Maintenance Worker Supervisor: Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent

Wage & FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Department Classification: Shop Union - United Steel Workers

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent, performs duties including but not limited to summer/winter maintenance on all County and State roads.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

• Tree cutting/clean up.
• Mowing.
• Patching.
• Maintain and service trucks and equipment.
• Grading.
• Snow plowing.
• Operating equipment.
• Guardrail and sign repair.
• Restoration.
• Culvert maintenance.
• And other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must have and maintain a clean driving record and current Medical card.
• Ability to pass a drug test. Employees are subject to random drug testing.
• Current Class B CDL, with airbrakes, with no restrictions, and the ability to acquire a Class A, with airbrakes within a specified time frame.
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
• Hours can include nights, weekends, holidays and over-time.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent educational preparation.
