Job Description

Risk & Assurance Manager

Hybrid working: 1 or 2 days per week required in the office.

Reporting into my clients Head of Risk and Assurance, this role will contribute to the design, development and implementation of the group wide approach to risk and assurance, and play a leadership role in ensuring and enabling business buy in and effective and efficient
implementation across organisation.

You will be delivering a programme of 2nd line of defence assurance across the organisation and will work with portfolio accountable leads to assess the effectiveness of controls, and advise on the opportunities to improve (and simplify) them in order to improve their success in mitigating the risks.

Responsibilities include:
- Deliver assurance activity, shaping, directing and overseeing 1st line of assurance (defence), and contributes to a programme of 2nd line assurance (defence), providing the portfolio accountable areas with data and insight on the effectiveness of controls, the opportunities to improve (and simplify), and also work with 3rd line of assurance (Internal Audit) to ensure a collaborative approach to risk and controls assurance.
- Contribute to shaping and setting the group wide approach to business continuity. On occasion, may be required to be part of the practical execution of the arrangements in the
event of a business continuity incident.
- Alongside colleagues including the risk and assurance function, enable internal controls reporting, providing robust, accurate and rigorous data and insight on risk and effectiveness of controls.

Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong experience in risk profiling (internal and external), data and insight.
- Proven experience of assurance and compliance activities within a business setting, and development of new approaches to provide data and insight that supports continuous improvement.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to use data and insight to diagnose cause, impact, effect and identify potential actions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Strong reporting and presentation skills.
