Job Description

Development Operations Manager

About the role

English National Ballet is seeking a Development Operations Manager to provide an effective service to the Development team in the areas of managing supporter data, partnering with the Finance team to provide reconciliations and track gifts and pledges, ticketing for supporters and guests, and prospect research and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expertise in the customer relationship management database (CRM), by being the team's superuser, training team members where needed, assisting with new data features, and liaising internally on any database change processes required
  • Provide an internal service for ENB departments and liaise with external venues regarding ticketing enquiries for key supporters, stakeholders and other guests for ENB performances
  • Upon receipt of the monthly accounts, liaise with the Development team and reconcile monthly with Finance on new gifts and pledges, outstanding balances, and year-to-date fundraising totals
  • Produce regular summary reports as well as other financial, analytical, statistical and demographic reports as needed by the Development team
  • Undertake specific research projects related to prospective donors and sponsors as required
  • Build credibility and good working relationships with ENB colleagues and our (venue) partners and other external contacts
  • Line manage any direct reports as required, supporting their learning and development and contribution in the role
  • Be an active member of the Development team, representing the team at key meetings and events as required and acting as an ambassador for ENB at all times

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience in managing fundraising operations in the performing arts, cultural, charity, or UK Higher Education sectors
  • Experience of managing data at scale through a customer relationship management (CRM) system, to manage donor relationships and to track giving
  • Highly proficient user of Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills and good presentation preparation skills
  • Experience of working to compliance requirements for charitable giving, including data privacy, and able to keep up to date with any changes in regulations
  • Ability to deliver accurate reports and insight for tracking fundraising progress to plan, with relevant supporting commentary and analysis
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload, working to set reporting periods with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
