Job Spec: Are you a senior research professional with deep experience in Youth/Higher Learning and a knack for building strong client relationships? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected insights consultancy as a Research Director, leading impactful projects across the education and related sectors.

This is a role for someone who loves the blend of research leadership, client management, and commercial growth. You'll take the reins on key projects, mentor a talented team, and help shape the strategic direction of a trusted specialist agency.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading end-to-end delivery of research projects.
• Ensuring quality, profitability, and client satisfaction across your portfolio.
• Driving new business opportunities - from proposals and pitches to developing the sector pipeline.
• Partnering with the Managing Director on strategy, sales, and team development.
• Developing and nurturing strong client relationships while supporting the team to do the same.

About you

• A mixed-methods research leader with strong qualitative and quantitative understanding.
• Deep knowledge or experience of the youth/higher learning/student sector.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage clients, and oversee high-quality research delivery.
• A strong commercial mindset: confident leading proposals, shaping pitches, and driving new business opportunities. While experience is valuable, the eagerness to get involved is the key.
• Confident, collaborative, and able to step in seamlessly to keep projects running smoothly.
