Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Systems Engineer to join our team in the Defence sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our defence systems. This position requires a strong background in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) / Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM). The candidate must hold SC Clearance and be a British national.

Key Responsibilities
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) / Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
    • Perform detailed FMECA in compliance with standards such as MIL-STD-882 and MSG-3.
    • Identify safety-critical components and assign appropriate criticality codes.
    • Develop and maintain FMECA documentation and reports.
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to mitigate identified risks and improve system reliability.
  • Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)
    • Conduct RCM analysis to optimise maintenance schedules, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
    • Develop and implement maintenance strategies based on RCM principles.
    • Analyse maintenance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
    • Work with maintenance teams to ensure the effective implementation of RCM strategies.
  • General Responsibilities
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
    • Participate in design reviews and provide reliability input.
    • Conduct reliability testing and analysis.
    • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Essential
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in the Defence sector.
    • Proficiency in performing FMECA in compliance with MIL-STD-882 and MSG-3.
    • Experience in conducting RCM analysis and developing maintenance strategies.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • SC Clearance and British nationality.
