Role Summary

The Regional Manager role provides operational leadership across Easteden homes and services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, effective and person-centred care in accordance with organisational, professional and regulatory standards.

The Regional Manager is responsible for leading, supporting and developing Home Managers and leadership teams across residential, nursing, dementia, mental health and complex care environments while promoting operational excellence, governance, workforce development, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the region.

The role provides regional oversight of operational performance, quality assurance, workforce management, safeguarding, occupancy, financial sustainability and service development activity across Easteden services.

The Regional Manager will work collaboratively with operational leaders, Regional HR leaders and wider business support functions to support the implementation of organisational strategies, workforce initiatives, governance frameworks, operational systems, communication plans and continuous improvement programmes across Easteden services.

The Regional Manager will collate and review all weekly Care Home Manager reports identifying any issues and assisting in creating, and thereafter monitoring, any action plans. The Regional Manager will liaise with the Senior Leadership Team to provide monthly reports to the Operations Director.

The role will support the embedding of new working practices, organisational systems, operational processes and service developments within Homes while promoting effective communication, staff engagement and leadership visibility across services.

The Regional Manager will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals, regulators, commissioners and external stakeholders to support organisational growth, service quality, governance standards and positive resident outcomes.

The role requires visible leadership, strong operational judgement, effective decision-making and the ability to lead within dynamic and evolving regulated care environments.

About the role Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Stakeholder Experience
  • To provide a Regional Management report to the Operations Director monthly.
  • To provide support for the Operations Director and act up as and when required.
  • Participate in RQIA inspections to support Home Managers or attend in their absence if required.
  • To lead the delivery of high-quality, safe and person-centred care services across Easteden homes and services within the region.
  • Promote resident wellbeing, dignity, independence, inclusion and quality of life across all aspects of service delivery.
  • Support Home Managers and leadership teams to maintain safe, responsive and effective care delivery in line with organisational, professional and regulatory expectations.
  • Monitor and review managers' performance and provide appraisals, supervision and support where areas for improvement are identified.
  • Foster professional accountability and responsibility of the Home Managers ensuring high quality care is provided in every service.
  • Assist the Operations Director to maintain regional oversight of operational performance, occupancy, workforce stability, safeguarding, resident experience and service delivery standards across Homes.
  • Support occupancy, admissions, enquiry management and service sustainability across Easteden services.
  • Support Homes in responding appropriately to incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, workforce pressures or operational risks.
  • Promote positive relationships with residents, relatives, commissioners, regulators, healthcare professionals and wider stakeholders.
  • Support operational consistency, service improvement and high standards of resident experience across Easteden services.
  • Contribute to the development of dementia-friendly, inclusive and person-centred care environments across all Homes.
  • Support implementation of organisational strategies, operational systems and service developments across the region.
Leadership & People Management
  • Provide visible, supportive and professional leadership across Easteden services.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, learning, professionalism and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, motivate and support Home Managers, Deputy Managers, Clinical Leads and wider leadership teams to deliver consistently high standards of care, governance and operational performance.
  • Lead, support and develop Home Managers, Peripatetic Managers, Regional Quality Assurance Managers and wider operational leadership roles across Easteden services.
  • Support the development, embedding and evolution of emerging leadership and support roles in line with organisational growth, governance requirements and operational priorities.
  • Promote leadership capability, succession planning, talent development and workforce sustainability across operational and support services.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and professional support to operational leaders and developing managers across the region.
  • Maintain oversight of workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, induction, supervision, retention and succession planning activities across the region.
  • Work collaboratively with Regional HR leaders and wider business support teams to support workforce strategies, organisational development initiatives, communication plans and service improvement programmes while leading the effective operational implementation and embedding of organisational initiatives across Homes.
  • Support implementation and embedding of new organisational systems, governance frameworks, operational processes and ways of working across Homes.
  • Promote effective organisational communication, staff engagement and leadership visibility across services during periods of operational change and development.
  • Support managers and leadership teams to address performance, conduct, capability, attendance or practice concerns appropriately and in line with organisational procedures.
  • Promote staff wellbeing, engagement, leadership capability and positive workplace culture across Easteden services.
  • Support organisational change, operational transformation and service development initiatives across the region.
  • Promote effective communication, teamwork and collaborative working across multidisciplinary and support teams
Communication & Collaborative Working
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with residents, relatives, advocates, regulators, commissioners, multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise professionally with GPs, pharmacists, social workers, community teams, regulators, commissioners and external agencies to support safe and effective service delivery.
