Job Description

We are looking for a GP Receptionist to join our busy, welcoming, and supportive reception team. The role involves face to face and telephone interactions, handling a high volume of calls, booking appointments, providing administrative support, and ensuring the smooth operation of the surgery.

Main Duties
  • Answer patient telephone calls in a friendly, confident manner.
  • Book appointments and guide patients to the appropriate clinician.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as requests for prescriptions, test results, and patient records.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
Required Skills
  • Clear telephone manners and effective communication.
  • Empathy and emotional awareness when speaking with distressed or worried patients.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and sense of humour.
Qualifications
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Good working knowledge of computers.
Experience
  • Customer service experience and professional communication skills.
  • Experience working in a GP practice preferred.
