Job Description
We are looking for a GP Receptionist to join our busy, welcoming, and supportive reception team. The role involves face to face and telephone interactions, handling a high volume of calls, booking appointments, providing administrative support, and ensuring the smooth operation of the surgery.
Main Duties- Answer patient telephone calls in a friendly, confident manner.
- Book appointments and guide patients to the appropriate clinician.
- Handle administrative tasks such as requests for prescriptions, test results, and patient records.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
- Clear telephone manners and effective communication.
- Empathy and emotional awareness when speaking with distressed or worried patients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude and sense of humour.
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
- Good working knowledge of computers.
- Customer service experience and professional communication skills.
- Experience working in a GP practice preferred.
- Positive attitude and friendly disposition.
- Compassionate and caring nature.
- Flexibility to cover sickness, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Computer literacy.
- Confident communication with the public.
- £12.71 per hour.
- Full time, permanent position.
