Early Years Teaching Assistant - 1:1 (Reception)

We are currently recruiting for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Shepherd's Bush. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting a pre-verbal child with Autism (ASC) on a 1:1 basis within a reception class.

The Role

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pre-verbal pupil with ASC
• Support communication using AAC strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton)
• Work within the EYFS framework to support learning through play
• Liaise with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals
• Track progress and contribute to EHCP targets
• Support emotional regulation, engagement, and independence

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working in Nursery or Reception settings
• Strong understanding of Early Years (EYFS)
• Experience supporting children with ASC, particularly pre-verbal pupil
• Confident using or willing to learn AAC strategies
• Calm, patient, and proactive approach
• Relevant Level 2/3 qualification (desirable, not essential)
