An exciting opportunity of Radiotherapy Physicist has become available to join a team supporting a major cancer centre, located at Guy'shospital in central London and at Queen's Mary's hospital in Sidcup.
The main role of this post is to provide support to the work of the Radiotherapy Physics section. The post holder will work over a range of areas in Radiotherapy Physics and will undergo training in Radiotherapy Physics and associated techniques.

As well as the main Guy's Cancer Centre site in London Bridge, the post holder will be expected to provide routine support as required at Guy's Cancer at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.
About usThe Guy's Cancer Centre is currently equipped withnine Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, three GECT scanners for simulation, a superficial x-raytreatment unit and Elekta HDR brachytherapyservice. The centre serves a population of 1.9 millionand typically treats over 4500 patients per year. Thereis a thriving research and education programme andclose links with our university partner, King's CollegeLondon.

Person Specification- Good1st or 2nd class) Honours degree in a relevant subject
- Relevant MSc or higher degree
- HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist (or able to achieve within 12 months)
- Basic knowledge and experience across the range of working procedures and practices in radiotherapy physics
- Specialist training on and practical experience with a limited range of radiotherapy equipment and clinical applications
- Experience of supporting original radiotherapy research or service development
- Broad knowledge of radiotherapy techniques and clinical applications
- Broad understanding of patient and staff risks arising from radiotherapy
- Able to present scientific papers at national and international conferences
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
