Job Description
Job Summary

An experienced and enthusiastic Angiography Nurse will join the Interventional Suite at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team, performing and circulating angiographic and interventional procedures, assisting scrub nursing duties, and further developing skills as a Pre assessment Nurse. This is a permanent full time position (37.5 hours per week) with an annual salary up to £36,000 depending on skills and experience.

Main Duties
  • Fully understand and pay close attention to each patient's needs.
  • Work directly with clinical talent in a close knit team headed by the Head of Cardiology.
  • Gain experience of new practices, equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills.
  • Adapt flexibly to working patterns.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering a high quality service; assisting and circulating in a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures such as Percutaneous Coronary Interventions, Cardiac Rhythm Management Procedures, Peripheral Vascular Interventions, Embolisation of Cerebral Aneurysm and Uterine Artery Embolisation.
  • Act as a scrub nurse where required.
  • Perform pre assessment nursing tasks for patients undergoing angiographic procedures.
Person Specification
  • Registered with the NMC with at least 2 years experience in a busy Angiography lab.
  • Competent in phlebotomy, cannulation and intravenous drug administration.
  • BLS/ILS certified.
  • Vast knowledge in cardiology, peripheral vascular and neurovascular diseases and their treatment.
  • Strong understanding of radiation protection.
Qualifications
  • NMC registration.
  • Phlebotomy, cannulation and intravenous drug administration competencies.
  • BLS/ILS certification.
Experience
  • Knowledge of cardiology, peripheral vascular and neurovascular diseases and treatment.
  • Understanding of radiation protection principles.
