Position: Radiographer - Permanent, Full Time

At Galway Clinic we are seeking a Basic Grade Radiographer to join our dynamic Imaging Service and contribute to the delivery of high quality diagnostic care. The role is permanent full time 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake radiographic and imaging examinations in a professional manner.
  • Adhere to professional guidelines of the Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists and maintain a high standard of radiography.
  • Ensure that the three principles of radiation protection (justification, optimisation and dose constraints/limits) are adhered to.
  • Take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures.
  • Adhere to all departmental imaging protocols.
  • Report any defects or occurrences either directly to the Manager or Clinical Specialist in the area where working.
  • Keep up to date with current techniques and developments in radiographic and imaging procedures and participate in in service training as required.
  • Actively participate in continuing professional development.
  • Carry out all other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager, Clinical Specialist in the area where working.
  • Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the service user and in relation to all hospital activities as per statutory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or a bachelor of Science, or its equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Must be registered with CORU.
  • Demonstrate experience working with a team of radiographers.
  • Have proven ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
  • Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required.
