Position: Radiographer - Permanent, Full Time
At Galway Clinic we are seeking a Basic Grade Radiographer to join our dynamic Imaging Service and contribute to the delivery of high quality diagnostic care. The role is permanent full time 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Undertake radiographic and imaging examinations in a professional manner.
- Adhere to professional guidelines of the Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists and maintain a high standard of radiography.
- Ensure that the three principles of radiation protection (justification, optimisation and dose constraints/limits) are adhered to.
- Take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures.
- Adhere to all departmental imaging protocols.
- Report any defects or occurrences either directly to the Manager or Clinical Specialist in the area where working.
- Keep up to date with current techniques and developments in radiographic and imaging procedures and participate in in service training as required.
- Actively participate in continuing professional development.
- Carry out all other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager, Clinical Specialist in the area where working.
- Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the service user and in relation to all hospital activities as per statutory requirements.
- Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or a bachelor of Science, or its equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Must be registered with CORU.
- Demonstrate experience working with a team of radiographers.
- Have proven ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
- Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required.
