Job Description
Quantity Surveyor - London (Commercial / Project QS) £65,000-£85,000 + Benefits

Our client, a well-established main contractor operating across the UK and Ireland with a strong project pipeline in residential, commercial and mixed use sectors, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their London delivery team. They are currently delivering high profile developments including major residential led schemes and transformative urban regeneration projects.

Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial and contractual aspects of live project delivery from post tender handover through to final account. You'll work closely with the project team to control costs, manage procurement, and ensure value for money while maintaining contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead subcontractor procurement and package breakdown.
  • Prepare and analyse valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, cashflows and cost reporting.
  • Support cost control through accurate measurement and commercial reporting.
  • Engage with stakeholders including design, site and commercial teams.
  • Attend project meetings to provide commercial insight and risk updates.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS accredited preferred) or working towards chartership.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with a main contractor.
  • Strong understanding of UK contracts (JCT DB/JCT suite) and commercial risk.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, negotiation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and measurement data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cost reporting tools.
