Quality Inspector / CMM Operator

A Quality Inspector / CMM Operator job opportunity has just become available within a precision engineering and manufacturing business. This role supports internal inspection activities, ensuring components meet specification and that inspection results and documentation are completed in line with quality system requirements. Working as part of an established Quality team, the successful candidate will operate CMM and manual inspection tools while supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. The position offers a salary circa £45,000, structured training, 33 days annual leave, and long-term stability within a well-organised production environment.

Quality Inspector / CMM Operator duties include - Operating CMM using PC-DMIS software and manual gauges to inspect components against drawings. Completing inspection reports, recording results in line with document control and quality procedures. Supporting incoming goods inspection and supplier quality verification activities. Investigating and reporting non-conforming parts, supporting root cause and corrective actions.

Quality Inspector / CMM Operator desirable skills and experience - Experience operating CMM, ideally using PC-DMIS software. Previous experience within a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician or CMM Operator role. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols. Experience using conventional inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, and surface finish testers. Flexibility with working hours.
