QHSE Manager

A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to take ownership of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental functions within a busy production environment.

This is a highly hands on role suited to someone who enjoys being on the shop floor as well as leading and developing a small quality team. The successful candidate will manage two Quality Inspectors and a Quality Engineer, while driving continuous improvement across quality systems, manufacturing processes and product development.

Key Responsibilities of QHSE Manager

• Lead and manage the QHSE function across the manufacturing operation
• Maintain and develop the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
• Work closely with production, engineering and product development teams to ensure quality standards are met
• Provide technical support relating to welding, fabrication and manufacturing processes
• Oversee quality inspection and testing activities, including supplier and internal audits
• Support product and process improvement initiatives across the business
• Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across the site

Candidate Requirements of a QHSE Manager

• Strong background in manufacturing or heavy engineering environments
• Experience with welding, fabrication and flux based processes
• Solid understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems
• Exposure to manufacturing engineering and product development
• NDT knowledge or experience would be beneficial
• Metallurgical training or understanding would be highly advantageous
• Proven experience leading or mentoring quality personnel
