Job Description
Project Manager

£208 per day PAYE Project Manager Hull Onsite: 4 days per week Temp for 12 months

Do you have 2-5+ years' experience managing product development or reformulation projects within FMCG?
Are you confident working with R&D, regulatory and external suppliers to deliver technical change?
Can you manage multiple stakeholders and timelines across a complex portfolio without losing control of detail?

This is a hands on, end-to-end project management role leading a large scale fragrance reformulation programme driven by compliance updates. You will take ownership of approximately 100 formulations requiring change and manage the process from screening through to qualification and launch readiness.

You will suit this role if you are structured, resilient and comfortable operating in a fast paced, matrix organisation. You take accountability, push progress, anticipate risk and deliver outcomes without constant supervision.

The opportunity

You will lead a business critical compliance programme impacting a broad fragrance portfolio across multiple product formats. The role offers high visibility across technical, regulatory and supplier teams, with clear ownership of timelines and delivery.

This is not a formulation lab role. It is a technically credible project management position that requires strong coordination, risk management, and stakeholder influence.

What you will be doing
  • Manage end-to-end reformulation projects driven by regulatory or internal compliance changes
  • Coordinate external fragrance house partners, including submissions, timelines and documentation
  • Work closely with internal R&D teams across 4-5 product formats
  • Liaise with toxicology and regulatory teams to secure updated clearances
  • Oversee olfactive evaluation processes with internal experts
  • Manage testing, qualification requirements and handover to technical teams
  • Track risks, manage dependencies and maintain programme plans
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with SOPs and quality procedures

You will engage with multiple internal stakeholders and external technical partners daily. Strong communication and organisational discipline are essential.

What you must have
  • Minimum 2 years' project management experience
  • Background in FMCG product development, reformulation or scientific/R&D environments
  • Working understanding of formulation processes and validation cycles
  • Experience operating within structured stage-gate or operating models
  • Confidence managing external suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
  • Exposure to fragrance or flavour categories
  • Experience delivering compliance-driven reformulation programmes
  • Comfortable with a day rate of £208 PAYE

This role is based in Hull and requires on-site presence four days per week. It is offered as a 12 month temporary assignment.
