Job Description
About the Role

The Enterprise Transformation Programme is a multi year journey focused on transforming Haleon's business to enable the 'Win as One' strategy through SAP S/4HANA. The Functional Lead ensures the delivery of the programme supports the functional ambition and unlocks value at pace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure business and technical design decisions are coherent, standard led, enterprise safe, and decision ready.
  • Govern design interlock across the Enterprise Transformation programme, Business Design Authority, Technical Design Authority, and Enterprise Design Authority, working closely with Business Process Owners, Programme Leads, and Technology teams.
  • Manage design decisions to be traceable, aligned to design principles, and protect long term enterprise value.
  • Own the Design Governance Approach, embed it into the Programme Governance Framework, and keep it current across programme phases.
  • Review key design deliverables for readiness before Stage Gates, ensuring process, data, integration, and technology designs meet guardrails.
  • Act as Secretariat and Quality Keeper for the EDA and BDA, maintain the Design Decision register, set standards, and communicate outcomes and escalations to leadership.
  • Ensure design coherence: apply the default fit to standard position, justify deviations, and challenge proposals that create unnecessary debt or legacy burden.
  • Establish cross programme design working groups to surface and resolve interdependencies, classify them by dimension, and provide escalation routes as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, educate programme teams on governance principles, and serve as a trusted advisor to enable rapid decision making.
Experience and Key Competencies
  • Deep mastery of design authority models, programme business and technology design governance, and enterprise design governance.
  • Demonstrated track record in leading design governance for complex, multinational transformation programmes.
  • Expertise in identifying, classifying, and resolving design led interdependencies, including implicit dependencies and escalation thresholds.
  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4 design principles: fit to standard, clean core, and controlled exception management.
  • Ability to challenge business and SI proposals that introduce unnecessary technical debt or legacy carry over.
  • Excellent relationship management across stakeholders, including Executives, Business Process Owners, Architecture, Data, Technology, and PMO.
  • Strong escalation discipline and influence through evidence based judgement, even under delivery pressure.
