We are excited to announce that the Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking a highly motivated Program Accountant to join our Finance Team in London.

As Program Accountants, you will manage your program portfolio and support the Senior Programme Accountant, CFO, and Senior Leadership Team with program reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for projects and donor reports.

About the Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely month-end accounting and reporting for your projects.
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, supporting the annual reforecast process.
  • Ensuring donor reporting complies with requirements, timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Representing finance on project boards as needed.
  • Collaborating with Business Development and Program Teams on donor proposals.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to management.
  • Providing financial guidance to stakeholders for decision-making.
  • Maintaining compliance with accounting standards and donor regulations.
  • Working closely with program staff to analyze financial data and ensure projects are on track.
  • Contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Potentially managing a project accountant.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A qualified accountant with at least 5 years of experience in program accounting within a charity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and donor compliance.
  • Knowledge of financial process improvements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
