Job Description
Job Title: Product Owner
Location: Nottingham (2-3 days hybrid)
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 + benefits

We are recruiting a Product Owner for a fast-growing technology company transforming the energy sector. With customers across the globe, this business has become the go-to tech partner for top-tier energy suppliers by delivering scalable, cost-effective solutions that outperform legacy systems - and by building a team of passionate, collaborative people. As a Product Owner, you'll work closely with the Product Manager and cross-functional squads to take product initiatives from vision to execution. You'll own the detail, drive clarity through well-defined user stories, and ensure your squad delivers real customer value - all while being a key link between design, engineering, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate the Product Roadmap into a clear, actionable backlog
  • Lead user journey definition and customer experience outcomes in partnership with design
  • Break down epics into features and PBIs to maximise delivery impact
  • Define and maintain test criteria and documentation with precision
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to shape and scope delivery
  • Track KPIs and backlog metrics to prioritise initiatives
  • Facilitate effective stakeholder reviews and maintain clear communication
  • Promote agile best practices and team alignment
Technical & Professional Skills:
  • Strong analytical thinker with the ability to break down complex requirements
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and multitasking skills
  • Client-focused, with high levels of diplomacy and professional judgement
  • Agile experience is a must; energy/utility sector knowledge is a plus
Soft Skills:
  • Clear communicator and confident influencer across all levels
  • Team player with a collaborative, adaptable mindset
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
