Principal Associate - Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation

Location: London

Position: Principal Associate specialising in insurance and reinsurance litigation with a particular focus on coverage disputes and advice.

The team represents major London Market insurers, global insurers and reinsurers across a broad range of complex and high value claims, advising on technically challenging coverage disputes, defence claims and reinsurance matters across various sectors and policy types.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise insurers and reinsurers on complex coverage and defence matters.
• Handle reinsurance disputes and strategic advisory work.
• Manage international caseloads involving losses/claims in foreign jurisdictions and liaise with local counsel.

Qualifications

• Solicitor with 5-6 years post qualification experience (PQE) or more.
• Solid background in advising insurers and reinsurers on complex coverage, defence, and reinsurance matters.
• Strong understanding of the London Market and the relationships between insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and lawyers.
• Experience with complex commercial insurance policies and policy interpretation.
