Primary Behaviour Mentor - 1:1 or 1:2 Primary SEMH Unit Camden February Start
Term-time only £95-£120 per day Long-term until July 2026 with scope to be extended.
Are you skilled, patient, and passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? A nurturing mainstream primary school in Camden is looking for a Primary Behaviour Mentor to work 1:1 or 1:2 with children of varying primary ages in their specialist SEMH unit.

What You'll Do - Primary Behaviour Mentor

Work directly with children in the SEMH unit, providing tailored 1:1 or 1:2 support throughout the school day.

Implement trauma-informed strategies to support emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning.

Set consistent boundaries and promote self-regulation in line with each child's individual plan.

Collaborate closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and SEMH specialists to ensure a coordinated approach.

Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Monitor progress, celebrate achievements, and adapt strategies to meet evolving needs.
Who We're Looking For - Primary Behaviour Mentor

Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, including knowledge of behaviour management, attachment, or trauma-informed practice.

Calm, resilient, and positive, able to maintain consistency in challenging situations.

Skilled in de-escalation and building trusting, supportive relationships with children.

Relevant qualifications or strong academic background.

Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willing to obtain one).

A genuine passion for making a real difference in children's lives.
