As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Plant Fitter to join our team based at our Herts Depot.
Job Overview
The Workshop Plant Fitter will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of a range of plant machinery. You will be expected to work independently on-site, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order, meeting the required safety standards and operating efficiently.
This is a full-time role, with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as required.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of plant machinery.
Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring all machinery is compliant with relevant safety standards.
Conduct inspections and keep accurate records of work carried out.
Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects in a timely manner.
Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).
NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance will also be considered, but please note the salary will reflect this qualification level.
Proven experience in plant machinery maintenance and repairs.
Full, valid UK driving licence.
CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a workshop fitter role is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with a broad range of plant equipment, including excavators, loaders, and access equipment.
Working Hours & Benefits
Hours : 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Overtime and occasional Saturday work will be required based on operational needs.
Salary : £36,000 to £40,000 per annum (depending on qualification).
