Plant Engineer

Working Hours

Mon - Fri, 07:30 - 17:00 - 42 hours per week

Overview

This role is responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of plant hire equipment in the region, ensuring all work is safe and complies with Speedy safety standards. You will work closely with other engineers in the depot and liaise regularly with drivers and the hire desk team to prioritise repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Inspect, test, maintain and repair plant hire equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and internal procedures.
  • Coordinate with depot engineers, drivers and hire desk to prioritise work.
  • Support the team in delivering the ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver.
Requirements
  • Proven ability to test and repair plant equipment to a high standard, ideally within the hire industry or similar.
  • NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Technical/engineering background is desirable.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Ability to support your business unit/team in delivering the ESG Strategy.
