Phlebotomist- Telford

2 x 37.5 hours per week positions from 7:00 - 19:00 Mon - Fri and Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays from 8:00 - 12:00. Cross site working will be expected at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Community Diagnostic Centre, Telford and Whitchurch Community Hospital (working on wards and in the community). These are Trainee Phlebotomist posts. Full and extensive departmental training will be given to the successful candidate. We are recruiting for 2 full time vacancies on a rota basis. The successful candidates should have excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure, have an approachable nature, be able to fulfil the travel requirements and record data accurately. Flexibility is important as shifts will vary according to service needs.

• Collection of blood samples by venepuncture from adults on wards who need to be discharged.
• Recording and labelling of samples.
• Delivery of samples to the laboratory: by hand, via the hospital vacuum air tube system, by portering staff and transport systems.
