MedicineManagement and Pharmacy Services are seeking to recruit a highly motivatedand enthusiastic Pharmacy Procurement Team Leader. The successful candidatewill be working off-site at our Leeds Pharmaceutical Stores location on theoutskirts of the city.
Thepost-holder will provide leadership and operational oversight to the PharmacyProcurement Invoicing Team, ensuring robust financial governance, regulatorycompliance, and the effective management of procurement-related invoicingprocesses. They will be accountable for setting performance standards,driving continuous improvement, and embedding best practice across thefunction.
Ourbusy Pharmacy Invoicing Team works in a fast-paced yet supportiveenvironment, delivering an excellent medicines supply service across theorganisation. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a wide range ofclinical and non-clinical staff to ensure medicines are available in theright place, at the right time, supporting safe and effective patient care.
Therole will also deputise for and provide high-level support to the PharmacyProcurement Business Manager, contributing to business planning, riskmanagement, service improvement initiatives, and stakeholder engagement toensure resilience, value for money, and operational excellence acrosspharmacy procurement services
Main duties of the jobResponsible for the line managementof the Pharmacy Procurement Business team, ensuring that they have clearroles and responsibilities and work as a team to meet departmental goals andobjectives.
Participate in the recruitment andselection of the administrative staff.
Responsible for the staffdevelopment of the Pharmacy Procurement Invoicing team in order to maximisethe quality services provided and enhance the competence of the staff.
Conduct appraisals and monitor andreview the performance of the individuals within the team, taking action asappropriate
Effectively manage annual leave andsickness absence of the administrative staff
Assist the Pharmacy ProcurementBusiness Manager in ensuring that the invoicing team are supported throughany period of change and that any interpersonal conflict is identified andminimised.
Provide support for the PharmacyProcurement Business Manager in compiling and producing timely and accuratespecialised monthly reports and statistics as required by the service

Person Specification- Understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion
- Expertise in the manipulation of spreadsheets, databases and other information resources
- Proficient IT skills and computer literacy, including relevant software experience for example spreadsheets, word processing and databases.
- Good time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Respect for others. Demonstrate an empathetic nature and the skills required to communicate effectively and speedily

- GCSE - Mathematics
- Diploma /NVQ 3 or equivalent in Business admin or other relevant area.
- Previous line management experience, including recruitment, appraisals, absence monitoring.
- Knowledge and ability to manage staff
- Able to train and mentor staff and understand the importance of continuing professional development both personally and for staff
- Knowledge of managerial and HR policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and to prioritise, organise and monitor personal and departmental workload
- Effective interpersonal skills, able to liaise with all levels and grades of staff offering guidance and interpretation on processes and information
