Personal Assistant (Social Care) Staplehurst

Job Role Available :- Personal Assistant / Carer support / Life Coach

Salary :- £12.71ph

This role is to support a high functioning autistic adult (moderate tendencies), who requires support of up keeping the everyday pressures in life. Ideal candidate is someone who has experience / understanding around autism and is non judgemental about the internalised / invisible struggles that many autistic adults face. Ideally a motivated and well rounded candidate with knowledge in a variety of areas including autism. Being local to Staplehurst, Kent is an advantage but is not a necessity.

There will be a team navigated around the support of a 16 year old, who has high care needs. The main need is preventative to support the caregiver to avoid becoming overwhelmed at times, when they are supporting a child with high care needs and managing a lot of external services, including EOTAS. Reduction of autism fatigue and burnout for them, as they maintain a support network for their child. Also promoting / motivating their personal interests, to grow in the future and improve quality of life for the household overall.

Flexibility is given below due to the need being interchangeable, to support particular areas as / when needed ie if doing workload of administration documents to evidence requests from council or making changes / application to other services to support needs, then capacity to do other jobs will reduce significantly and therefore have a domino effect and other jobs build up to a point they become too overwhelming to manage.

Duties can apply to some of the descriptions below :

  • Supporting to maintain the home environment with general duties.
  • Support maintaining areas in the garden and advice to help create a holistic space to support wellbeing.
  • Occasional management of nutritional intake, introducing new recipes and promoting healthy eating.
  • Support / help with advocating caring responsibilities for a child who has a high need of care.
  • Providing options of facilities / services in the community / recreational facilities to access.

DBS check will be required

Shift Pattern:

Hours are - 8 hours between Monday to Sunday. Times to be agreed.
