Details

Overview

Are you a proactive, organized, and reliable individual looking for a meaningful role where you can make a tangible difference? I am a 65 year old lady who has MS and uses an electric wheelchair to enable mobility. I am TPN fed (artificially fed) and I have a colostomy and urostomy. I am looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to support me in my daily life. This isn't just about care; it's about enablement. Your role will be to help me maintain my independence, and manage both my home and social life.

If you are someone with a positive attitude, good communication skills, and a respectful approach to working in someone's private home, I would love to hear from you.

Duties

Your duties will vary depending on the day, but will generally include:

  • Social & Lifestyle Support: Assisting and transporting to appointments and shopping trips.
  • Daily Living Assistance: Helping with light household duties and general organisation around the house.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assisting with managing paperwork, scheduling appointments, or making phone calls where needed.
  • Personal Care: Assisting with personal care including emptying night bags, support with showering and occasional dressing.
Skills and Experience

You don't necessarily need years of formal care experience-having the right attitude and a shared understanding of respect and boundaries is what matters most.

  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Good communication skills and a good sense of humour.
  • Flexible and able to cover various shifts.
  • Respectful of privacy, confidentiality, and independence.
  • A clean, valid driving license and access to a vehicle, able to transport a folding electric wheelchair.
  • Previous experience in a PA or support worker role.
  • Previous training in manual handling and first aid.
