Payroll Manager (Hybrid)

VANRATH are currently working with a leading manufacturing organisation who are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented payroll professional to take ownership of a busy payroll function with added exposure to broader finance processes.

In this varied and hands-on role, you'll play a key part in ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time across multiple sites. Responsibilities will include:
- Processing both monthly and bi-weekly payrolls within strict deadlines
- Managing overtime and bonus payments, including calculations and approvals
- Handling starters, leavers, pensions, student loans, and auto-enrolment updates
- Maintaining and updating the Time & Attendance system
- Preparing BACS files for payment release and reconciling credit card and expense transactions
- Posting wages journals and reconciling payroll-related control accounts
- Submitting accurate HMRC returns and staying current with all legislative updates
- Producing payroll and headcount reports for internal stakeholders
- Supporting audit and budgeting processes
- Contributing to ongoing improvements in payroll systems and procedures
This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll experience, looking to broaden their financial expertise within a fast-paced industry. We're looking for:
- Proven experience processing UK payroll
- Strong knowledge of PAYE, NIC, HMRC returns, and pensions
- Proficiency in payroll software (Sage or similar) and advanced Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset
- Finance or accounting-related qualification
- ROI payroll experience
