POSITION OVERVIEW


ICFO is seeking a dynamic and motivated Outreach Project Manager - International Initiatives to join its Outreach team. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the design, coordination, and implementation of international outreach and career development initiatives, with a strong emphasis on programs targeting university students and early-career researchers.

The position will primarily involve the management of high-impact European projects, including Coordination and Support Action of the Quantum Flagship's and the Horizon Europe 360 CARLA project aimed at expanding career opportunities and fostering talent in science and innovation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with a multidisciplinary mindset-combining strengths in project management, science outreach, and community building-as well as a proactive, solution-oriented attitude and the ability to inspire and engage with diverse audiences.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Identifying, developing, executing and/or coordinating internal and external activities within the projects to ensure that the work plan and milestones are properly fulfilled.
  • Monitoring, reporting and promoting the project results.
  • Organizing activities in the framework of international projects.
  • Proactively coordinating and attending meetings aimed to strengthening links between ICFO and the projects partners and stakeholders.
  • Proactively searching for additional projects at the international level to strengthen current programs and create new ones.
  • Leading dissemination tasks in coordination with the Communications team.
  • Supporting the overall efforts of outreach at ICFO directed to university students.
  • Supporting any other outreach activities.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • A degree in a STEM discipline, preferably in Physics and ideally at the PhD level, or equivalent professional background in a relevant field.
  • Experience in organizing or participating in outreach activities.
  • Strong public speaking skills, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Experience in content creation around deep tech topics for outreach purposes.
  • Knowhow of digital tools for dissemination of projects and other outreach needs.
  • Organization of events such as workshops, symposiums, hands on activities, talks, visits, etc.
  • Coordination, management of or participation in European projects or other types of consortium-structured international projects.
  • Experience developing proposals for EU calls or similar.
  • Proficiency in English, Spanish and Catalan.

  • Be passionate for communication of science and technology and their applications.
  • Have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and organizational, planning and analytical skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
  • Have an eye for detail, responsibility, and an eager-to-learn attitude.
  • Show demonstrated ability to perform tasks both, independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with universities in the Barcelona area, particularly in relation to STEM education and student communities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to variable schedules, including occasional evening or weekend activities, as required by events or project needs.
  • Be willing to meet deadlines and follow up on assignments.


CONDITIONS


This is a full-time position. The contract offered will be an indefinite contract for scientific and technical activities, in accordance with Spanish Law 14/2011.


A competitive salary within ICFO's salary scales will be offered, commensurate with the seniority of the applicant.
