POSITION OVERVIEW
ICFO is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Digital Transformation Lead to join our team and play a key role in spearheading our institution's journey towards digitization, automation, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across research, technical, and administrative domains. This pivotal role will drive the development and execution of a comprehensive digital transformation strategy, enhancing operational efficiency, fostering innovation, and aligning technological advancements with our institution's mission in physics research.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a holistic digital transformation roadmap aligned with the institution's strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities for digitization, automation, data & analytics, and AI integration to enhance research capabilities and administrative efficiency.
Technology Integration & Innovation:
- Lead the adoption of emerging technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Evaluate and implement digital tools and platforms that support research activities, data management, and collaboration.
Process Optimization:
- Analyze current workflows across research and administrative units to identify areas for improvement.
- Design and implement streamlined processes leveraging digital solutions to enhance productivity and reduce redundancies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management:
- Collaborate with research groups, technical units, and administrative departments to understand their needs and challenges.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote digital literacy and ensure smooth transitions during technological changes.
Data Governance & Security:
- Establish protocols for data management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Work closely with IT and security teams to safeguard institutional data and intellectual property.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of digital initiatives.
- Regularly report progress to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous i improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Background in scientific research, i.e. PhD and/or Postdoctoral experience in a field related to ICFO's research, is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms relevant to research and administrative functions.
- Familiarity with AI applications, data analytics, and automation technologies.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and project management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to drive change and foster a culture of innovation.
Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Catalan and Spanish is an advantage.
We will also value demonstrable experience in:
- Experience in the public sector or academic research environments.
- Familiarity with the Spanish and European research funding landscapes.
- Certifications in project management or digital transformation methodologies.
CONDITIONS
The contract initially offered for this position will be contract for scientific and technical activities pursuant to Spanish Law 14/2011 linked to the initial evaluation process and strategic planning described with an estimated duration of three years. After this period it is foreseen to undertake an evaluation and open a new position for a full-time permanent position.
A competitive salary within ICFO's salary scales will be offered, commensurate with the seniority of the applicant.
