This role will be pivotal in ensuring that the HCM solution is robust, compliant, user-focused, and seamlessly integrated into a complex enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Oracle Cloud HCM functionality, UK statutory compliance, and the ability to work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver a best-in-class solution.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Lead the end-to-end solution design for Oracle Cloud HCM, including Core HR, Payroll, Talent Management, Absence, Benefits, and associated components.
  • Define architecture principles, design patterns, and integration frameworks to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
  • Translate business requirements into a solution blueprint that aligns with enterprise standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Enterprise Architects, Workstream Leads, and SMEs to capture and refine requirements.
  • Facilitate design workshops and provide expert guidance on Oracle HCM capabilities, configurations, and limitations.
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Finance functions to ensure the solution meets operational and compliance needs.

Integration & Compliance

  • Oversee integration design between Oracle HCM and other systems (eg, Finance, Payroll, Benefits Providers, Identity Management).
  • Ensure full compliance with UK-specific requirements, including Tax, Pensions, HMRC RTI, and employment regulations.
  • Define data migration strategies and ensure data quality during the transition from Legacy systems.

Governance & Delivery

  • Ensure all designs align with governance processes, security policies, and programme objectives.
  • Provide assurance and oversight during build, test, and deployment phases.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and design changes effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience as a Solution or Technical Architect on Oracle Cloud HCM implementations.
  • Strong functional and technical understanding of Oracle Cloud HCM modules (Core HR, Payroll, Absence, Talent, Benefits).
  • Proven track record delivering UK-based implementations with detailed knowledge of statutory compliance (Tax, Pensions, HMRC RTI, Expenses).
  • Experience integrating Oracle HCM with multiple enterprise and third-party systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Higher Education sector experience or other large, complex organisational environments.
  • Knowledge of other Oracle Cloud Fusion ERP modules (Finance, Procurement).
  • Understanding of cloud security and GDPR compliance in HCM environments.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to shape the architecture of a critical HCM transformation.
  • Competitive day rate, reflective of experience and expertise.
  • Collaborative working environment with senior stakeholders and skilled delivery teams.
  • Potential extension into broader Oracle Cloud Fusion modules post-HCM implementation.
