Operations Assistant

Bathgate, West Lothian

Starting Salary: £25,500 per annum

Monday to Friday 8-hour shifts between 8:00am and 6:00pm

A growing and fast-paced organisation is seeking an Operations Assistant to join its busy Operations team in Bathgate.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys speaking with people, solving problems, staying organised, and working in an environment where no two days are the same. Previous experience within customer service, administration, retail, hospitality, contact centres, or other fast-paced environments would be beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within operations and customer service.

The Opportunity

The Operations Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day coordination of time-sensitive transport and service requests. Acting as a central point of contact, they will communicate with customers, drivers, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure a high standard of service is delivered at all times.

Working within a supportive team environment, the successful candidate will help manage bookings, monitor progress, provide updates, and respond to enquiries while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle inbound telephone calls and customer enquiries
  • Process and manage bookings efficiently and accurately
  • Monitor and track ongoing jobs, providing updates where required
  • Liaise with customers, drivers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Resolve issues and respond to changing priorities in a timely manner
  • Support the coordination of specialist projects and distribution activities
  • Complete a range of administrative tasks, including data entry, pricing, and invoice-related processes
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure information is updated across systems
