About the role
As an NPI Executive at Mirus Aircraft Seating, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of new and ongoing programmes within the organisation, ensuring that our supply chain is ready to support innovation from prototype through to full production. Partnering closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production, you will source and develop suppliers, negotiate commercial agreements, and manage the procurement of materials and components critical to programme success. Acting as the central point of coordination, this role ensures programme milestones, timelines, and deliverables are effectively tracked and communicated across departments. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in NPI and procurement within a growing aerospace manufacturer, driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and on-time delivery in a highly regulated and innovative environment.
The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and capable of working across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. You will assist in coordinating purchasing activities across multiple programmes managing costs and sourcing risk to ensure programmes are delivered on time, to budget and with a sustainable high quality supplier base. Responsible for managing material procurement information (MPI) with precision and efficiency, and ultimately ensuring supplier performance aligns with programme requirements.
In the role of New Product Introduction Executive, you will:- Manage procurement activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring supplier readiness in alignment with programme schedules, from pre-production through to delivery
- Plan and implement their development and execution, identify needs, set goals and create work plans
- Ensure manufacturability, cost targets, and quality standards are met
- Source and develop suppliers capable of meeting aerospace quality and delivery requirements
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and supply agreements to deliver best value while protecting business interests
- Participate in purchasing programme meetings, ensuring alignment with programme timelines and purchasing deliverables
- Act as a liaison between teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless communication and execution
- Maintain accurate data in ERP systems (BOMs, lead times, costings)
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and supply agreements to deliver best value
- Create and maintain programme tracking tools, KPIs, and gateway review presentations
- Identify, monitor, and report purchasing and supply chain risks and opportunities to support both short-term development builds and long-term sourcing strategies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes
To support Mirus on our continued journey of growth, we're looking for someone who brings proven experience in a programmes/purchasing buyer role, a proactive approach to solving challenges, exceptional customer service delivery and excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate will also bring the following skills and attributes:
- Proven experience as a Project or Programmes Coordinator/NPI Executive
- Strong understanding of New Product Introduction
- Knowledge of supplier development, sourcing strategies, and cost management
- A solid understanding of fundamental project management tools and methodologies
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office (Business Central experience would be advantageous)
- Confidence in generating data-driven reports and delivering clear, concise updates to both colleagues and senior stakeholders
- Experience working in a highly regulated engineering environment such as within aerospace or automotive sectors
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, or AS9100 standards
Personal skills / attributes:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to foster excellent relationships with internal stakeholders, working cross-functionally with engineering and project teams
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels both internally and externally
