Exciting contract opportunity for an ambitious FMCG account or business manager.

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum Location: South East England,Kent Job Type: Freelance

  • 1 year FTC possible temp to perm

  • £40k - £55k depending on experience plus car allowance + bonus
ABOUT THE COMPANY
  • Our client is a well established FMCG food business with a strong product portfolio and a growing ambition to unlock greater potential in the convenience channel.
ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands on National Account Manager role focused on developing and strengthening relationships across convenience, wholesale and symbol groups. The business has existing distribution and buying relationships, but limited resource historically - meaning there's real opportunity for someone proactive to make an impact.

You'll manage a mix of established accounts while actively building new relationships, helping to shape how the convenience channel evolves over time. The role is offered on a fixed term contract, with genuine scope to become permanent.

Key responsibilities
  • Open doors and secure listings in targeted channels by establishing strong relationships with key decision makers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for newly onboarded accounts, ensuring smooth implementation and continuous growth.
  • Negotiate favourable terms with retail partners to maximise visibility, distribution, and placement of our products, and closing deals.
  • Develop and nurture long term relationships with customers by understanding their needs, addressing challenges, and identifying areas for mutual growth.
  • Consistently monitor account performance, sharing insights and recommendations to ensure maximum profitability.
ABOUT YOU
  • Graduate calibre & proven experience in FMCG sales environment with direct experience of engaging and negotiating with Retailers, 3 years experience is ideal
  • Experience and knowledge of the Convenience retail market
  • Excellent analytical & presentation skills
  • Good negotiation & communication skills
  • Customer focussed, with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
  • Bold and daring mindset - comfortable with seeking out new opportunities
