Job Description
Our client, a leading global healthcare company based in Cavan, is recruiting a Microbiology Lab Technician.
This role will work on a 4 day weekend shift pattern: Friday 08:00-17:00pm, Saturday & Sunday 09:00-18:00, Monday 08:00-17:00.
Primary Function- Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety Rules and Regulations within the plant.
- Report any current or potential hazards to your manager immediately.
- Wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) at all times and use appropriate controls such as a fume hood and ventilation where required.
- Review all relevant SOPs/test methods for any job task you may carry out and ensure full understanding and adherence to them.
- Comply with global and regulatory requirements and execute current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and current good laboratory practices (cGLP) in all activities and applicable job functions.
- Maintain GLP at all times, including during environmental sampling, waste control and chemical disposal. Practice aseptic techniques at all times.
- Be responsible for environmental sampling throughout the plant.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping standards.
- Carry out product testing using Microbiological Test Methods.
- Perform sampling at process sample points and test product throughout the process to ensure no microbiological impact is identified.
- Carry out in process testing.
- Assist with collection and testing of extra samples during trials of new product innovations.
- BSc in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline.
- Strong understanding of compliance and quality standards.
- Very good understanding of microbiological techniques & methods used.
- Excellent attention to detail & strong interpersonal skills.
