Our client, a respected national membership organisation, is seeking an Interim Director of Membership to guide a pivotal period of transition and reinforce their role as a trusted voice for their community.

This interim appointment will provide steady leadership, maintain momentum on key priorities, and ensure organisational stability while the permanent Director is appointed.

The Role

As Interim Director of Membership, you will lead the organisation's member engagement strategy, ensuring every member feels heard, supported, and represented. You will:

• Strengthen and articulate a clear, compelling membership offer.>
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, partners, and member representatives.
• Bring sector insight into policy, advocacy, and organisational decision making.
• Oversee governance, secretariat, and operational support functions.
• Drive strategic projects that enhance culture, collaboration, and member value.
• Support preparations for organisational or structural changes affecting members.

About You

You will be an experienced senior leader with credibility across complex, multi stakeholder environments. Your background will include:

• Strong experience in membership leadership or member focused roles.
• A track record of building influence and high trust relationships across diverse sectors.
• Strategic planning and delivery skills, using data and insight to shape decisions.
• Confidence operating at Board level and navigating sensitive contexts.
• A collaborative, values led leadership style with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications
