About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to join the Service Delivery pillar of a large, mission-critical IT organization in Brussels. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering and optimizing IT services and applications within a specific business domain. You'll work closely with multiple teams across IT, ensuring service continuity, efficiency, and alignment with strategic business objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a service-oriented leader who can balance technical understanding, stakeholder management, and delivery excellence in a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and delivery of IT services and applications within your assigned business pillar.

• Coordinate and supervise multidisciplinary teams (analysts, developers, testers, architects).

• Translate strategic goals and general planning into actionable, measurable execution plans.

• Ensure transparent communication with both technical teams and management regarding project status, risks, and performance.

• Support management decisions through detailed business cases and investment justifications.

• Monitor and manage team budgets (in man-days) and report on progress and efficiency.

• Collaborate with the Service Operation teams to ensure reliable infrastructure and smooth service continuity.

• Act as the primary liaison with the Business Partner for your pillar, ensuring business and IT priorities remain aligned.

• Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering efficiency and service excellence.

• Respond swiftly to service disruptions, coordinating with relevant teams to restore normal operations and ensure minimal business impact.

Key Skills & Competencies

• 5+ years of experience as a Service Manager in an application-oriented environment (Java and/or .NET).

• Solid understanding of Agile principles and delivery frameworks.

• Strong background in managing complex IT systems within large organizations.

• Experience in application development life cycle management, especially in Java and .NET ecosystems.

• Proficiency in IT cost estimation and resource planning tools.

• Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.

• Strong grasp of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, particularly ITIL.

• Experience in program management and organizational change management.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Fluent in French or Dutch (native level) with good English proficiency and a passive understanding of the other national language.
