Mechanical Design Engineer (Draughtsperson)

Location: Northallerton

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 + 20 Days Holiday + Bank Holiday + Onsite Parking

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00

Mechanical Design Engineer required for a welding and fabrication projects specialist with a renowned reputation for the quality of their work. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a varied role as the company works in a broad range of industries on a variety of products.

This role would suit an experienced design engineer or draughtsperson with experience using SolidWorks. Candidates with experience in any metal/fabrication industry are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be responsible for using SolidWorks to produce designs for a range of fabrication projects, including platforms, stairs, conveyors, manholes, gates, and more.

The Mechanical Design Engineer responsibilities include:

• Using SolidWorks
• Compiling materials and costs for quotations
• Site visits to support measurements and customer liaison (typically within a 30-mile radius)
• Collaborating with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are accurately produced
• Liaising with clients and subcontractors to understand project requirements through to completion

Candidate requirements:

• Design experience in any engineering industry
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
