Maintenance Technician / Handyperson

An established residential care home is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician / Handyperson to join its friendly and caring team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of general maintenance tasks, helping to ensure the care home is safe, well maintained and comfortable for residents, visitors and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and basic property upkeep.
• Identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Support the upkeep of communal areas, bedrooms, facilities and external areas.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Report any significant defects or issues that require specialist attention.
• Work closely with the wider care home team to maintain a safe and pleasant environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a maintenance, handyperson or similar role.
• Good practical and problem-solving skills.
• A broad range of general maintenance abilities.
• A reliable, flexible and proactive approach to work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
• The ability to work respectfully in a care environment.
