Maintenance Technician

An established residential care home is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician / Handyperson to join its friendly and caring team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of general maintenance tasks, helping to ensure the care home is safe, well maintained and comfortable for residents, visitors and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out general maintenance, repairs and basic property upkeep.
- Identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Support the upkeep of communal areas, bedrooms, facilities and external areas.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Report any significant defects or issues that require specialist attention.
- Work closely with the wider care home team to maintain a safe and pleasant environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a maintenance, handyperson or similar role.
- Good practical and problem-solving skills.
- A broad range of general maintenance abilities.
- A reliable, flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
- The ability to work respectfully in a care environment.
