Maintenance
The maintenance team ensure our Resort is at its very best for our guests and teams, to allow for the effective operation of facilities within the hotel. The team are proactive with repairs requiring multi-skilled abilities due to the varied nature of the work they carry out. Whilst the team works autonomously in a fast-paced environment, they liaise and communicate with every single department in the resort.
Salary
The on-target earning potential for this role is £33,653.03 annual salary, compromising of a base salary of £32,425.83 plus a qualified estimate of £1,227.20 gratuities per annum.
About the role
This role is for 40 hours per week, working a variety of shifts, and will include weekends and evenings.
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will support the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer and the Senior Supervisor in the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring the resort is maintained to the highest standards. Alongside your own maintenance tasks, you will take on supervisory responsibilities, helping to coordinate the team's workload and ensuring smooth operation across shifts.
You will also be responsible for:
Supporting the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer to allocate, monitor and spot check jobs through our maintenance reporting system
Managing and responding to reactive maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner
Liaising with contractors for any outsourced repairs/breakdowns, booking them to site in line with resort requirements, and keeping communication with relevant departments clear for updates
Assisting in the training and development of team members to ensure consistent standards are met
Supervise, plan and monitor the PPM programme in tandem with the Maintenance Co-Ordinator, ensuring schedules are being met and spot checking for high standards
Supervise, plan and monitor the departmental compliance checks, ensuring high standards of compliance are being maintained
Departmental H&S representative responsible for attending monthly H&S meetings, engaging directly with other departments for H&S matters, assisting with audits and action plans, and driving team e-learning compliance
Manage departmental stock control, carrying out fortnightly stock takes and ordering required stock with the assistance of the Maintenance PPM Technician
Safeguarding resort property and assets at all times
Complying with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Fire Safety policies at all times
About you
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within a hospitality or commercial environment and be confident taking on additional responsibilities to support team leadership.
In addition to this, you will have:
- A trade background in electrical, plumbing or carpentry is preferred
- A strong understanding of maintenance operations and relevant technical knowledge
- A proactive and hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience or confidence in supervising a small team or acting as a team lead on shift
- The ability to prioritise workload and maintain high standards under pressure
- Strong organisational skills and a commitment to property safety and guest satisfaction
- Computer literacy is required at a good level, although full systems training will be provided
- A flexible and collaborative attitude, with excellent communication skills
