Lunchtime Supervisor

Overview

Lunchtime Supervisor - Cwmafan Primary School (Ysgol Gynradd Cwmafan)

11:30-13:00, 5 days per week with flexibility where needed.

Purpose

To ensure the safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of pupils during the lunchtime period.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground, and other agreed areas.
• Encourage good table manners and support younger children with eating where needed.
• Promote positive behaviour and help resolve minor playground disagreements.
• Ensure safe play by monitoring activities and intervening when necessary.
• Report any concerns, accidents, or incidents to the senior staff member on duty.
• Maintain a calm, friendly, and approachable presence for all pupils.
• Support the smooth running of lunchtime routines, including lining up, transitions, and clearing spaces.

• Friendly, patient, and confident working with children.
• Able to stay alert, fair, and consistent.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to pupil safety.
