This is the perfect role for someone with an accounts or finance background who is looking to build a career within the legal sector.The firm is seeking a motivated Trainee Legal Cashier to join their busy accounts team and develop specialist legal finance skills in a professional yet friendly environment.About the roleThis Trainee Legal Cashier position offers hands-on experience within a busy legal accounts department. You will work closely with an experienced Accounts Manager and gain exposure to a wide variety of legal finance processes.Key responsibilities will include:

• Daily reconciliations of client and office bank accounts
• Processing and posting client account payments and receipts
• Banking and processing client and office account cheques
• Setting up telegraphic transfers, faster payments and foreign payments
• Reconciling and posting petty cash
• Processing and paying the purchase ledger
• Reconciling Land Registry statements
• Running month-end reports
• Paying VAT online
• Preparing and issuing statements of account
• Investigating and clearing client and disbursement balances
• Handling credit control duties
• Closing and archiving files
• Responding to queries from partners, staff and clients
