Job Description
Lecturer and Programme Leader (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning)

Northumberland College operates across Ashington and Ponteland campuses and is expanding with a new state of the art campus scheduled to open in 2026.

About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to deliver high quality teaching in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps (RACHP) while contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging RACHP lessons to a range of learners.
  • Develop and update curriculum materials in line with industry standards.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during practical sessions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and resources.
  • Support learners in achieving their qualifications and career goals.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant industry subject.
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent, or commitment to complete within first two years.
  • Level 3 Assessor qualification, or commitment to complete.
  • Proven industry experience in RACHP.
  • Ability to deliver practical and theoretical lessons effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Experience working with and supporting apprentices and employers.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and end point assessment.
