On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for an IT Environment Coordinator (Configuration Management) for a 12 Months contract based in Derby (1-2 times per week in the office).

Job description - the role

Purpose of the role:
We are looking for an IT Environment Coordinator to manage multiple IT environments supporting engineering and manufacturing applications. These environments are critical for development, training, and pre-production testing before changes are deployed to production. You will ensure these environments are properly configured, maintained, and communicated across teams.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain and configure multiple IT environments (development, training, UAT, pre-production).
  • Ensure environments are synchronized and operational to prevent downtime.
  • Schedule and coordinate configuration changes across environments.
  • Manage PLM environments, including development and multiple training/pre-production environments.
  • Support other engineering and manufacturing applications requiring environment management.
  • Liaise with vendors to implement changes and manage configurations.
  • Notify stakeholders of upcoming changes and environment updates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of all configurations and changes.

The skills you'll need:

Essential Criteria
  • Familiarity with IT development projects and change/configuration management.
  • Experience managing multiple environments or complex systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with IT testing processes and environment preparation.
  • Attention to detail and ability to track multiple moving parts.
  • Proficient in documentation and change tracking.

Desirable Criteria
  • Experience with PLM systems (preferably Siemens Teamcenter).
  • Background in engineering/manufacturing IT environments.
  • Previous vendor management experience.
  • Understanding of configuration management principles.
  • Project coordination experience (but not full project management).
