Are you a seasoned Employee Relations professional with a passion for navigating complex employee relations issues? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and have proven experience working with trade unions? If so, we want to hear from you.

Working on a interim 6 month contract this role is home based with some but limited travel.

Salary up to £62k

About the Role:

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our people strategy through expert ER case management. You'll be the go-to advisor for managers and senior leaders on a range of issues - from disciplinaries and grievances to performance and absence management, right through to complex situations. With a high volume of ER cases, this is a role for someone who is confident, resilient, and solutions focused.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high and varied caseload of employee relations issues from start to resolution.
  • Partner with line managers to provide pragmatic and legally sound ER advice.
  • Engage and negotiate with trade union representatives on a wide range of matters.
  • Support complex investigations and hearings, ensuring best practice and compliance with UK employment law.
  • Identify ER trends and recommend proactive interventions to reduce risk and improve employee experience.
  • Contribute to policy development, process improvement, and ER capability building across the organisation.

What We're Looking For:

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent essential
  • Strong background in managing high volumes of ER cases in a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience working with trade unions is key.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage sensitive issues with discretion and tact.
