At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
Due to expansion within the team, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as an Image Transfers Administrator. The successful candidate will be part of a small team that plays an instrumental role in supporting decision making in both emergency and planned care at UHNM, as well as supporting patients transferring to other organisations as part of their care package.
Main duties of the jobThis critical role sits within the Digital Services Directorate and focuses on the availability of medical imaging for the organisation and wider health economy. The successful candidate will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week Monday Friday. The primary base for this role is at Royal Stoke University Hospital, with the possibility of occasional rotation to County Hospital.
On top of the many benefits of working for the NHS, the Image Transfers Team also participates in a home working rota, which the successful candidate will be able to enjoy after initial training is complete.
The Image Transfers Administrator is an office based role that supports the clinical services of the hospital by providing timely access to medical imaging from a variety of sources; this is essential for efficient and effective patient care, and the successful candidate will be making a real contribution to the patient journey. The duties will bring the successful candidate into contact with a wide range of clinicians, MDT coordinators and secretarial staff from multiple hospitals and healthcare organisations.
Image transfers to and from the Trust are completed using IT systems, and the successful candidate would need to be proficient at using several specialist IT systems in the course of their role. Full training in these systems will be provided.

Person Specification- Good standard of education (GCSEs or NVQ2) or equivalent experience
- Experience of transcribing critical information / data from source onto documents / online systems
- Managing own workload without close supervision and able to multi task, prioritising multiple deadlines
- Computerised or manual filing systems
- Experience of working within an NHS or health sector organisation
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Understanding the importance of attention to detail and data quality
- Able to communicate routine information with a wide range of staff at local and national level
- Diplomacy / empathy in negotiation at all levels
- Able to use own initiative to resolve routine problems
- Excellent organisational skills, including diary management and telephone handling
- Evidence of accuracy and attention to detail within application
- Knowledge of UHNM hospital information systems (e.g. EPR/CRIS/IEP)
- Medical terminology
