Job Description

Housing Management & Property Litigation Solicitor / FCILEx / Barrister 5+ PQE Birmingham

BCL Legal is working with a highly regarded national law firm seeking an experienced Housing Management & Property Litigation Solicitor, FCILEx or Barrister with 5+ years' PQE to join its expanding Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading practice advising registered providers, local authorities and private landlords on a broad range of housing management and property litigation matters.

The Role:
  • Manage your own caseload of housing management and property litigation matters.
  • Handle a mix of contentious and non-contentious work, including possession proceedings, injunctions, housing disrepair claims and policy advice.
  • Support partners on larger, more complex litigation matters.
  • Work directly with clients, managing relationships, expectations and deadlines.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals.
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions for clients.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively within a busy and growing specialist team.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, FCILEx or Barrister with 5+ years' PQE.
  • Strong experience in housing management and property litigation.
  • CILEx candidates must hold Civil Litigation Practice Rights.
  • Confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Experience supervising junior team members.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive and client-focused approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
